Turn On The Tap

Turn on the Tap is a global campaign by Samaritan’s Purse to provide access to safe water for communities in Asia and Africa.

1.8 million people die each year from disease caused by dirty drinking water and lack of sanitation. That’s equivalent to 10 jumbo jets full of people crashing every day! 90 per cent of those victims are children under the age of five.

One in eight people on this planet don’t have access to safe water. It’s a terrible statistic but believe it or not, in one way it’s actually good news. Why? Because just a few years ago that figure was one in six. So the statistics prove that you CAN make a difference!

By supporting Turn On The Tap you can save lives and greatly reduce the risk of water-borne disease. Providing access to safe water improves the lives of adults and gives their children a better chance at life.

How you can help Turn On The Tap

• Take a photo of your tap. A sponsor is donating $2 for every picture of a tap added to the campaign website.

• Order free resources including a DVD, Jack & Jill story booklets and water bottle label to turn any bottle into a water fundraiser.

• Donate: $100 provides a BioSand Water Filter for a family $250 covers the cost of a hand-dug well $2500 gives a rain-water harvesting solution for up to 500 children
